Quentin Bell Obituary

LAUREL SPRINGS - Quentin Noel Bell, 83, died June 17, 2013, at Alleghany Memorial Hospital, Sparta.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to his family. He was retired from Clorox Chemical Company of Charlotte, NC, as a production supervisor traveling to many different countries to establish bleach facilities for the company. He retired in 1982 to his farm in Laurel Springs with his wife and son spending many years enjoying his mountain home with his family.
Quentin was a man of deep faith and who daily spent his life in God's Holy Word. He taught Bible at his church as long as his health allowed.

He was born Oct. 12, 1929, to the late Theodore Bell and Nellie Mason Bell, and also predeceased by his wife, Mary Gaddis Bell of 62 years, one sister, Libby Bell, three brothers, Eugene, Don and J.K. Bell who was his best friend and neighbor.
He is survived by his son, Gary Bell of the home; daughter Sheila Bell Wallace and husband Tom of Stanley, NC; grandsons, Rev. Jamie Wallace and wife Heather of Compton, Ill. and Eric Wallace and wife Heidi of St. Peters, Minn.; two sisters, Nellie Ann Kimsey of Clarkston, Mich., and Darlene Ensley and husband Donnie of Gastonia; many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Funeral service will be held noon Saturday at Scottsville Baptist Church, Scottsville, officiated by the Rev. Reeves Jones, Quentin's pastor and friend.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scottsville Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in care of Bruce Lambert, 306 Greensboro Road, Crumpler, NC 28617.

Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, VA in charge of arrangements (276-773-2521).
