Randy Emory Obituary
A Celebration of Life will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 at Westview Baptist Church, 3385 Fairview Drive, Gastonia, NC 28052, officiated by the Rev. Jerry Millwood Sr.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
MAJ (Ret.) Emory was born January 24, 1949 in Gastonia, NC, son of the late Eddie Emory and Lucille Long Emory. He retired from the United States Army as a Major and later was a FEMA Disaster Assistance Officer.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Randy Michael Emory Jr.; brothers, James Emory, Lonnie Emory, Eddie Emory and Steve Emory.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Emory of Columbus, GA; son, Randy Shannon Anthony of Orlando, FL; daughters, Susan O'Neill (James), Dallas, GA, Katie Long (Elliott), Columbus, GA, Megan Davis (Josh) of Augusta, GA; daughter-in-law, Kim Emory, Huntingtown, MD; siblings, Rodney Emory (Chip) of Hickory Grove, South Carolina, Frieda Brock (Dean) of Gastonia, NC, Milton Emory (Peggy) of Bessemer City, NC and Terry Emory (Karen), Mt. Holly, NC, and 7 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emory ALS Center.

Randy and I go back some years to when we started working for FEMA. Randy was in management positions and because of him, I often had work with FEMA. Randy was a positive, upbeat person and a good friend. I miss him. The world was a better place with him in it.

So sorry to hear bout Randy. He was my Momma's Cousin. I kno Aunt Lucille is showing him around. You'll all are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope yawl find Peace and strength to get thru this time.
