Raul Aizcorbe Obituary
He moved to Belmont in 1964 where he began serving the community as a General Practitioner. He was the very first doctor on staff at Holy Angels, and the team physician for Belmont Abbey athletics for many years. He passionately pursued his calling, caring for his patients for 46 years, until retiring in 2010. Raul loved traveling, boating and fishing, cooking, gardening, music and the arts.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Elena Pacanins de Aizcorbe of Gastonia; son, Raul Cesar Aizcorbe, Jr and wife Diane of Evans, GA; daughter, Maria Elena Bowling and husband Mark, of Rock Island, IL; son, Carlos Luis Aizcorbe and wife Christy of Gastonia, son Francisco Tomas Aizcorbe and wife Abbie of Huntersville; grandchildren Michelle Peterson, Christopher Aizcorbe, Nicholas Aizcorbe, Regina Hope Aizcorbe, Tomas Aizcorbe, Jimmy Moody, Aaron Crumbley and wife Jaci, and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raul E. Aizcorbe and Leonor Whitmarsh de Aizcorbe.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2018 at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church with Father Frank Cancro officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Belmont Abbey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catherine's House, P.O. Box 1633, Belmont, NC 28012.

I can remember you when I was 14yrs old. You treated my mom and dad and 3 brothers. I think you treated the whole city of Belmont because you were the only doctor in town. You were so dedicated to your practice beside the bowling alley. I always wondered where you were.
