Steve Crouse Obituary

GASTONIA - Kenneth Steven "Mousie" Crouse, 66, passed away peacefully on Nov. 11, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Mecklenburg County on Feb. 20, 1950, to Alice Nell Huffstetler Crouse and the late Homer Kenneth Crouse.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Mary Huffstetler, Thomas and Edna Crouse, and stepson Michael Loftin.

Left to cherish his memories include his mother, Nell Huffstetler Crouse and her special friend Ed Morton; brother, George Thomas "Tommy" Crouse and wife Wanda, of Lake Wylie, S.C.; sister, Debra C. Payseur; step-granddaughter, Josie Loftin; nephews, Dean Fore (Amanda), of Nashville, Tenn.; Chris Crouse, of Lake Wylie, S.C.; Jonathan Payseur, of Pittsboro, N.C.; Jason Payseur (Nicole); Justin Payseur (Melanie); great-nephews, Noah Collier and Lucas Fore; Carson Payseur and Elijah Payseur; great-nieces, Addesyn Payseur and Emma Payseur; and numerous cousins.

Family will receive friends from 4:30 until 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, with A Celebration of life Service to follow at 6 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Tom Kinman and the Rev. Dan Crowley officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Gastonia Lodge 369 AFAM.

Worked with Steve and had the privileges of having him as one of my crew members for a number of years . Very dependable and particular about his work performance being of high quality. Steve had many talents and could use them in many different ways. Also enjoyed hearing him tell stories.
