Thomas Jackson Obituary

YORK, S.C. - Thomas Elliott Jackson Sr., 78, of York, S.C., died July 12, 2008, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, S.C.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Woodside Cemetery in Clover, S.C., with the Rev. Lee Dye officiating.
Mr. Jackson was born Sept. 5, 1929, in York County, S.C.

He was a Clover High School graduate and attended Lees McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C., where he participated in sports. Mr. Jackson was retired from Duke Power Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Franklin and Janie Drennan Jackson and a brother, Bobby Franklin Jackson.

Survivors are his son, Thomas E. Jackson Jr., of Sharon, S.C.; fiancee, Dot Melton of Clover, S.C.; sis-ters, Mary Jane J. Love Dulin and husband Buck of Bowling Green, S.C., and Elizabeth J. Harwell and husband Roy of Gastonia; sister-in-law, Betty G. Jackson of Clover, S.C.; nephews, Kenneth Love and wife Lannie, Donald Love and wife Barbara, and Charlie Love and wife Janet, all of Clover, S.C., Rocky Harwell and wife Beth and Scott Harwell and wife Kim, both of Gastonia; niece, Becky L. Munsey and husband Scott of Clover, S.C.; and 11 great nephews and 11 great nieces.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Clover, S.C. and other times at the home of Mary Jane J. Love Dulin, 1860 Dulin Road, Bowling Green, SC .

Memorials may be made to the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, 2275 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 or to the Heart Society of Gaston County, 1201 East Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054.

M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, Clover, SC is serving the family of Mr. Jackson.
