Annie Atkinson Obituary

Annie (Aizesky) Atkinson

Florence, MA - Annie (Aizesky) Atkinson, 93, of Florence, passed away peacefully at home on October 3, 2025.

Annie was born in Erving, to the late Joseph Aizesky and Frances Gressen. Annie married Tom Atkinson for 22 years before his passing. Annie lived in Amherst and Florence residences through Behavioral Health Network for over 15 years.

Annie was employed at a day care center for several years before retiring. Annie talked about this position for a long time. Annie later attended Thayercare Day Services before retiring at 83. She leaves behind many dedicated long-term caregivers and friends.

Annie loved her Polish music, crafting with colorful beads, reading books and going to Friendly's each year for her birthday. Annie was a caring person with a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor. Annie would often tell jokes or make funny statements, as she loved to make people laugh.

Graveside services are planned for Tuesday (10/28/25) at 11:00 a.m. at Gethsemane Cemetery in Athol. Arrangements under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home, 104 Bridge Street, Shelburne Falls, MA.
