Chip Spaulding Obituary

Chip (Gary) Spaulding

Northampton, MA — Chip (Gary) Spaulding, 67, born April 30, 1954 in Northampton MA, passed peacefully in his sleep on December 1, 2021 after dealing with multiple health issues for many years. Although his mind was strong and good spirited, his body could not keep up the fight.

Chip had a genuine passion for life, fun and laughter, and his contagious good humor always made him the life of any party. He was one-of-a-kind, did things his own way and hilariously lacking a filter. If you knew Chip, you are sure to have at least one endearingly funny story to tell about him. He made everyone he met feel like family. His infectious smile and kindness brightened the lives of countless friends and the family he loved dearly. He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren, and very excited to have another granddaughter on the way.

In high school, Chip was known as the fun guy with his famous '57 Chevy. For many of his working years, Chip ran a successful auto repair business with his son, Kris. After he retired, he devoted much of his leisure time with his family or could be found boating on the Connecticut River, with an open invitation to anyone wanting a "boat day," as long as they were on the dock at departure time!

Chip was predeceased by his parents, Wayne and Janet Spaulding.

He is survived by his loving children, Kris Spaulding and wife Bonnie, Kelly Spaulding, Lucy Spaulding and (fiancé) Dan Cawthron, Ricky Spaulding and wife Alicia; His long-time partner Judy Pashko and her daughter Carly; Ex-wives Marylou Spaulding and Linda Spaulding; His grandchildren: Shelby, Cierra, Sarah, Reed, Cole, soon-to-arrive Melina, and step-granddaughter Lylah; Siblings Craig and wife Dale Spaulding, Debbie and husband Paul Goulet, Mickey and wife Robin Spaulding. Plus many loving nieces and nephews, and every friend that became family.

There will be a celebration of his life in the spring.
