NORTHAMPTON - Claudia E. Hodges, 82, of Orchard Street, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, at Charlene Manor in Greenfield.
Born Jan. 18, 1934, in Longview, Washington, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Ella Mae (Griffith) Frodsham.
Claudia and her husband Jarvis C. Hodges moved to Northampton and Claudia worked for many years for the City of Northampton. She worked as a payroll manager for the Superintendent of Schools office and the city auditor's office from which she retired in 1989.
She was an active member of NARFE and served as treasurer for a number of years. Claudia was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and a longtime active member of the former St. Mary's Church serving on their bizarre committee and numerous other committees over the years. She loved spending time with her quilting group.
She was predeceased by her husband Jarvis Hodges, and nine brothers and five sisters. Claudia leaves behind her daughters Katherine M. (Hodges) Rarus and her husband John, and Karen J. (Hodges) Lafleche and her husband Donald, all of Florence; her son Steven W. Hodges and his family; her grandchildren Nathan Lafleche, Nicole Lafleche, Meghan (Lafleche) Blanchet and her husband Billy; great-grandchildren Caitlyn Lafleche, Lindsey Lafleche, Nicholas Rumrill, Michael Brissette, and Trinity Blanchet; her brother Lawrence Frodsham; sister-in-law Helen Hodges; brother-in-law Ronald Hodges and his wife Louise; and many nieces and nephews.
Her daughters would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Harvey Lederman, Dr. Steven Dipillo, Dr. Josephine Chou, Linda Manor Assisted Living, and Charlene Manor for their unending care, support and treatment during her extended illness, and also the Hospice of Franklin County.
A calling hour will be Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on King Street. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.
