Dennis Matthews Obituary
Florence, MA - Dennis Matthews of Northampton, Massachusetts passed away on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 at the age of 73. After several years of declining health battling Alzheimer, Dennis died peacefully.
Dennis was born in St. Albans, Vermont on March 22, 1949, to Father Blease Matthews and Mother Frances Richards as the youngest of three sons. After marrying his wife, Susan Matthews, Dennis moved to Northampton where he was a resident for almost 50 years.
During his life, Dennis was an avid golfer and billiards player. He participated in many leagues where he enjoyed the comradery of his friends and competitive play. Dennis also enjoyed taking scenic car rides and occasional trips to the casino.
Dennis was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Susan (Ciparelli) Matthews. He is survived by his two sons Ben Matthews and his wife Dawn Matthews and Hank Matthews and his wife Stevany Matthews. Dennis also leaves behind his grandchildren Jacob Matthews; Nyx Matthews; Owen Matthews and Francesca Matthews who miss him very much.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on March 30th in St Mary's Church, 42 Spring St., at 10:00 am, with Rites of Committal to follow in St Mary's Cemetery, Spring St., both in WINDSOR LOCKS, CONNECTICUT
In lieu of flowers, people wishing to honor Dennis's memory can donate through the Alzheimer's Association.
