Doris DeWolfe Obituary
She was born Dec. 10, 1927, in Chicopee, and was the daughter of Louis and Gladys (Mercier) Madru. She has resided in South Hadley most of her life.
Doris enjoyed baking breads and canning vegetables from their garden, braiding beautiful rugs and country rides to Vermont and Pennsylvania.
She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of 67 years, George; along with her daughter Arlene LaFlamme and her husband Maurice of South Hadley; her four grandchildren, Matthew LaFlamme and his wife Tina, Jason, and Ben and Daisie LaFlamme; and three great-grandchildren, Amber, Chase and Hunter. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her.
She was predeceased by her brothers Russell, Louis and Joseph.
The family wishes to thank with grateful appreciation, Landmark Assisted Living and Hospice of the Fisher Home for their loving and compassionate care provided to Doris.
A funeral service will be Friday, May 30, at 11:30 a.m. at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton Street. A calling hour from 10 to 11:30 a.m. will precede the service. Burial is private.
Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Soldiers' Home in Holyoke, 35 Cherry St., Holyoke, MA 01040.
