Jon, I still think of you often. Missing the good times we could have had growing old. You were a great friend and the closest thing I had to a brother. Jack

You had a very giving heart and were always so helpful to us. Altho' miles separated us from being close neighbors again, I will treasure our friendship and the laughter we all enjoyed when we were together. Yes, you are missed.

Jon, you did so much for me and my mother when we were neighbors in Florence. Most of all you were an unfailing positive presence in our lives. During our times together you would often say, "It doesn't get better than this." I will always remember those happy days when I think of you. Much love, Ellen

Rest in Peace John. So many good memories from the old neighborhood, even the time you hit me square in the face with a green tomato that weighed about 3 pounds. I still laugh about that one.
To all your family, I'm sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Like many of those I grew up with and lost touch with over the years there are some memories that just stand out and can't be denied like: all those visits to the Look Park Zoo your dad oversaw and our competition to find the first antlers shed by the resident deer there and especially those winter games where your dad pulled us with his jeep at crazy speed with just a rope attached to a sled and us screaming over the just plowed (and closed to the public) roads of the park. To all those Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn times of youth I can't mention here, I am thankful...and I look forward to seeing you again on the other side.
