JULIANN GRIMALDI

Northampton, MA - Juliann Elizabeth Grimaldi of Northampton, MA passed away peacefully just shy of her 59 th birthday after a long illness with her loving twin by her side on January 25, 2023. She was born on January 28, 1964 in Northampton, to the late Elizabeth (Betty) and Ralph Grimaldi. She was a graduate of Northampton High School (Class of 1982) and earned her Associates degree from Holyoke Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Westfield State College.

Juliann worked for over 30 years at Stop and Shop on King Street and at Joe's Café on Market Street for nearly 20 years until she was no longer able to continue due to her illness. She made many friends at both establishments, enjoyed seeing repeat customers, and interacting with new people. She was an avid runner, adored Pete Rose, enjoyed the outdoors- especially playing softball and tennis, loved her many golden retrievers, and spent much time tending to her family's generational home. Cherry Street was the place she and Jonna, as well as her father and uncles grew up in and holds many fond memories for the entire extended Grimaldi family.

Much to the chagrin of her family, Juliann was a Yankees fan.

Juliann is survived by her sister Jonna and her fiancée Ted Guglielmo, her uncle John (and Joan) Anderson, her first cousins Andrew and Lynne Grimaldi, Mark Grimaldi, Beth (Grimaldi) and Bruce Masotti, Nicholas and Stephanie Grimaldi, Julia Grimaldi, Amy and Stuart McCloskey, Heidi and Mark Robertson, her godchildren Tiffany Wynn and Aaron Stasiowski, as well as many, many cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Ralph and Elizabeth (Betty) Grimaldi, her uncles Marino and Nicholas Grimaldi, and her aunt Cynthia Grimaldi. She will be missed by all.

During the last several years of Juliann's debilitating illness, she was primarily cared for by her sister Jonna, who was her first and best friend. The family would like to extend special thanks and gratitude to the additional caregivers who supported Jonna while Juliann was house bound including Lisa Simmons, her friends who sat with her, her CNAs, and the Cooley Dickinson Hospice Care unit, particularly Regina and Ashley.

Calling hours will be Tuesday January 31, 2023 , from 4 to 7pm at the Czelusniak Funeral Home in Northampton. There will be an In House Service Wednesday February 1, 2023 at 10 am at the CZELUSNIAK FUNERAL HOME followed by burial at St Mary's Cemetery.
