Kenneth Scott Obituary

Kenneth P. Scott, 70, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. He was born February 16, 1948 in Northampton, to the late Frank "Tinker" and Phyllis (Tardy) Scott.

Ken worked for the City of Northampton for 35 years. After his retirement, he took many cruises with his wife Maryellen and vacationed annually at Old Orchard Beach in Maine. Kenny loved to plant and maintain his flower gardens each spring and summer; he also enjoyed crafting anything out of wood and could fix just about everything. He cherished all his dogs and relished in babysitting for the "grand-dogs". He treasured seeing the children's faces each morning as he worked as a school crossing guard; but most of all, he loved his family and friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife; Maryellen (Frenier) Scott of Florence, loving father to; Kimberly Berard and her husband Ed of Westhampton, Kenneth P. Scott Jr., of Easthampton, and Richard Scott of Chamblee, GA, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, his sisters; Linda Misterka and her husband Ken of Florence, and Lori Connelly and her husband Rod of Milton, also several nephews, a niece and numerous friends.

Mary Ellen and family,
I was so sad to learn of Ken's death. He was a wonderful cousin and we had many visits talking about the farm, the old days when we were young and carefree...We had a wonderful relationship through the years. Thank you Ken and Mary Ellen for your help when we saved the land in North Hadley for conservation and preservation forever. I will keep your family in my prayers and may your family be assured that Ken is at peace and blissfully happy.

Maryellen & family,

So sad reading the news that Kenny was called home way too soon. Every day was great to him. He always had that little smile that made those of us around him smile too. I remember fond times at Post 28 with Close Call. We had so much fun for so very long. Mary Ellen find relief and peace knowing how very much he loved you. May the memories of a life well lived hold you safe until you see Kenny again. RIP Kenny, you will be missed.
