Mary Songer Obituary
Easthampton, MA - Mary (Shoro) Songer, 64, passed away at her home in Easthampton on March 12, 2024. Born in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Edward R. Shoro and Joyce M. (Whalen) Shoro. Mary graduated from Northampton High School in 1977.
Mary was predeceased by her husband and partner of 35 years, Larry Songer, in 2019. Mary worked with Larry in his business, Optical Coating Technologies, Inc., until it was sold in 2012 when they both retired. Life was difficult for Mary since she had lost Larry. She missed him dearly and began suffering from declining health.
Mary was an avid reader, collector, and cat lover who loved to do her sweepstakes. She is survived by her brother, John Shoro and his wife, Sandy, of Holden, her nephews and niece Edward, Kathryn, and Andrew Shoro, and great nephews, Ryan and Jack. She is also survived by Larry's children, Jason Songer and his wife Julia of Springfield, and Kristina Sears of Easthampton, as well as Kris' children, Jessica and Mason. Additionally, she is survived by her beloved cat and constant companion, Tiger Lily.
Arrangements through Ahearn Funeral Home are private. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to your favorite animal shelter in her memory.

MARY MAY YOU REST IN PEACE....HAVENT SEEN YOU SINCE WE GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL. AND WHEN I FOUND OUT YOU PASSED AWAY ...I WAS HEAVY HEARTED HEARING ANOTHER PERSON FROM OUR CLASS OF 1977 NORTHAMPTON HIGH SCHOOL HAD PASSED AWAY. MAY GOD BLESS

We were friends in the early 1990s and lost touch. Mary was smart, creative, kind, and caring. I´m sorry she´s gone so soon.

Mary was my friend since before we were born we live two houses away. Her mom and my mom were really good friends. We lived at 135 Federal St. and they were two doors away. We were so close throughout childhood and had great memories and times together. I will love you always and I´m so sorry that we didn´t get a chance to spend time together with health issues etc. Forever in my heart God gained another beautiful saint Mary Joy. Love always CHERYL.
