Michael Lemek Obituary

Michael Lemek

Ludlow, MA — Michael J. Lemek, 62, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2021. Michael was the beloved son of Helen (Jurkiewicz) Lemek and the late Stanley Lemek. He graduated from Ludlow High School and went on to receive his degree in culinary arts from Rhode Island School of Design. Michael worked for several area restaurants including The Flying bridge in Falmouth and Gold Mine in Easthampton before starting his own business The Wishing Well in Southampton. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, listening to oldies music, loved animals, and supporting all New England sports teams, especially the Bruins. Michael was the devoted husband to the late Cathy (Truehart) Lemek, who predeceased him in 2005; a beloved father to Claire and Grace Lemek, of Ludlow; a dear brother to Chris Lemek and wife Debbie, and Elizabeth Babinski and late husband Thomas; and also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Funeral services for Michael will be held on Saturday, August 7th. Visiting hours are from 8:15-9:15am in Ludlow Funeral Home followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial in Christ the King Parish at 10:00am. Burial will be held privately by the family in Brookside Cemetery in Easthampton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael's memory to the charity of one's choice. RIP Michael! You were one of my childhood friends! We grew up right next to each other. Do you remember sleeping in the tree fort?? LOL. Well - we tried but we were too scared!! I can't believe that you were right around the corner in Southampton and I never knew it. I thought you had gone off to become a famous chef in another country somewhere! How I wish FB was around 20 years ago so I would have known I could come taste your culinary delites anytime. I have missed you over the years and love you still. God hold you and bring your family peace.
