Richard Ziomek Obituary
Easthampton, MA - Richard Anthony Ziomek, 85, passed away suddenly Monday, at Hartford Hospital. Born August 2, 1940 in Holyoke, MA, he was the son of Anthony and Stasia (Baldyga) Ziomek. A lifelong resident of Easthampton, he attended Sacred Heart school, graduated from Easthampton High School in 1958 and received an associate degree from Holyoke Community College.
He retired from the Commonwealth of Mass. Mental Health department in Northampton after having been employed at A.G. Spalding Co. and Digital Equipment Corp.
He was a lifelong lover of sports and coached many youth baseball and basketball teams and instrumental in establishing Booster Field at Nonotuck Park. He enjoyed watching his grandsons' hockey, baseball games, swim meets and cross-country races.
Richard was inducted into the EHS Hall of Fame in 2023 as a member of the 1956 EHS basketball team.
He leaves his wife of 64 years Maryann (Rogowski), a daughter, Karen Vayda (Todd), a son, Rick (Laura) Ziomek, grandsons Cameron Ziomek and Christopher Vayda, all of Southampton, and a nephew.
Richard was a member of the former Sacred Heart and Our Lady of the Valley Churches.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Easthampton Ambulance Fund, Payson Ave., Easthampton or Amelia Park Arena, 21 S. Broad St., Westfield, MA 01085.
A graveside service will be held for Richard on Friday, August 29 at 10am at the Saint Stanislaus Cemetery in Easthampton. Graham Funeral Home, 18 Adams Street, Easthampton is in charge of services.

Maryann, Karen and Rick, I was so sorry to hear of Rick´s passing. We go back to hs days as well as having family ties and sports connections. He was always great with my kids and supported them in their athletic activities. He will be missed by many. My sincere condolences. Lil Dembek
