Frederick Talbot
September 7, 2012
As her nephew (the son of her brother, Nathan Talbot), I remember my Aunt Ruthie as remarkably able to maintain her cool and self-control in the face of stressful situations - none as dramatic and life-threatening as the ones described in her obituary, yet decidedly revealing in her that same character of resolute calmness under duress.
She was warmly gracious and welcoming to all - and, like her mother before her, a fine writer. I will always remember Ruthie with deep affection and gratitude, and I am very fortunate indeed to have had her as my aunt.
May God rest your soul, my dear Aunt Ruthie.
