Stan was my advisor at Hampshire College. He encouraged me to follow my strange little passions, which became my career today. He willingly took me in and was my advisor for three years, even though I'd never taken a class with him before that. Over those three years, I learned so much from him - not just information, but how to pursue knowledge. I owe him so much, and I am forever grateful to him. May his memory be a blessing.

I met Stan through my wife´s first cousin Ray Coppinger. Stan joined my poker game and we had many warm and funny Friday nights together. We played regularly for about 15 years. I am very saddened by his passing
