Thomas Walsh Obituary
Vero Beach, FL - Thomas (Tom) C. Walsh, 85, passed away on May 14, 2023, in Vero Beach Florida surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Northampton Massachusetts on June 7, 1937, the son of the late Thomas J. and Nellie (Cerruti) Walsh.
Thomas grew up in Northampton MA with his sister Patricia Lizotte and a core of life-long friends and attended Northampton High School. He met and married Joanny P. Buckowski. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree from University of Massachusetts and then a master's degree from North Carolina State University. Tom and Joanny moved to a Washington D.C. suburb in the adjacent state of Maryland and together they faithfully raised and nurtured their two children, Thomas Anthony and Kimberly Jane. He was employed by the U.S. Federal Government at the Bureau of Census in Suitland Maryland and retired as the Chief of the Demographic Surveys Division after 35 years of public service. Tom and Joanny found their way to Vero Beach FL for a relaxing retirement. Ironically, daughter Kimberly had just graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne FL and set off for her career. They joined the Holy Cross Parrish community and over the years, their Parrish family grew extensively. Tom enjoyed attending daily morning Mass as well as being a member of the Holy Cross Rosary group.
Tom was an avid reader and enjoyed practicing his faith daily, spending time and travelling with his family, gardening, and sports especially basketball. Tom is remembered as a devout Catholic, husband, father, son, brother, friend, and public servant. He was charitable, kind, caring, witty and a most decent human being.
He is survived by his wife Joanny Patricia (Buckowski) Walsh his children, Kimberly Jane Walsh, Thomas Anthony Walsh and wife Cynthia Walsh, grandchildren Thomas Brandon Walsh and Larry Wayne Windsor and his sister Patricia Lizotte
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday June 19th, at 10 am in Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Easthampton MA, followed by burial in St Mary's Cemetery Northampton MA.

Tom always prayed the 2nd mystery in our morning Rosary group, now when its time to pray the 2nd I still find myself thinking it will be him. The group misses him.
