Judith Ann Allen, much beloved daughter of Long Beach, popular graduate of Wilson High School class of '61 and queen of the skies for American Airlines for many years in the '70's, '80's and '90's, passed away on Sunday, December 13th from Alzheimer's disease at age 77.
Survived by fellow Wilson '61, finance and caretaker Stephen Blackburn and son Timothy, brother Michael Allen and spouse Patty, living in Fort Collins, Colorado, adopted daughter Lisa Blackburn Walker and husband Chris Walker and adopted sons Chadwell, Brenden and William.
Judi was warm, enthusiastic, and empathetic and mention of her name brought huge smiles to anyone blessed to know her and still does. Judi kept close with her "Catalina Sisters" Nancy, Paulette (recently Deceased), Mary, Barbara, Marlene and Ronnie all '61's. Her fellow American Airlines retirees the "Kiwis" celebrate her long career and deep friendships.
Judi, known lovingly as "Twig" in high school due to her diminutive stature, lived with her mother Beth and father David in Japan for a while as David was stationed in the Army. She grew up in Long Beach with mother Beth who became a local reporter/TV personality.
Stephen and Judi, friends from high school, were on and off again companions, until the 50th class reunion, when they renewed their love and became engaged. Stephen gradually became caretaker and says he wouldn't change a second of their journey together, a blessing for both of them.
