Connie Moody born December 18, 1945 in Portland, Oregon to parents Gladys Brown and Robert Stephens, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, after a battle with cancer.
She was the devoted mother of three daughters Melinda (Troy) Sych, Mona Moody, and Cora (Cory) Finnell. She was the proud Grammy of Alison, Tehya, Natalie, and Nathan, and embraced four step-grandchildren as her own.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Carol Devet, and her beloved brother Darwin Stephens. She is survived by her baby sister, Delores Foss (Rob), as well as many nieces and nephews.
In her 20's, Connie had the best of times with her roommate Mary Ellen Moody (Eagles). When Mary Ellen married her husband Harry Eagles in August of 1968, Connie met the love of her life at the wedding, Louis Moody, Mary Ellen's brother. Connie was "kind of" engaged and Louis brought a date, but it made no difference, it was love at first sight and they were married just a few months later on January 18, 1969. They had their three daughters together and raised them in Albany, Oregon, surrounded by a big extended family filled with love and laughter that she cherished for the rest of her life.
Known for her kindness, generosity, and humor, Connie brought light and laughter to everyone she met. She had an unmatched sense of fun, loved to visit with friends, was always ready with the best costume ideas, and a contagious laugh that could brighten any room. She loved to dance and could outlast nearly anyone on the dance floor. Connie was active in her girls' schools for many years, and retired from Linn County before relocating to Vancouver, WA.
Tiny in stature but enormous in spirit, Connie was intuitive, creative, and endlessly smart. She enjoyed a good romantic comedy, mixing the perfect Bloody Mary, and despite often saying "one is enough" a playful shot of tequila. She was also famous in her family for making the best cheeseburgers and french fries.
Her family and friends will remember her as a woman of heart, humor, and joy, someone who loved deeply, and left behind countless memories of laughter, dancing, and togetherness. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
