David Costa Obituary

July 27, 1929 - Feb. 19, 2008

David F. Costa Jr. passed away from heart failure on Feb. 19, in Farmington Square, Tualatin. He was 78.

He was born in Hayward, Calif., to David F. Costa Sr. and Pauline Costa on July 27, 1929. He grew up in Seward, Neb. and went on to receive bachelor's and master's degrees in architecture from the University of California at Berkley. He practiced as an architect in Oakland, Calif., and Albany. Later, he taught drafting at LBCC and design at King Saud University in Saudi Arabia.

On Dec. 18, 1954, he married Marliene A. Costa in Larkspur, Calif.

He was a member of Rotary, ATA, the Chamber of Commerce, the Elks and the Springhill Country Club of Albany. He enjoyed golf, travel and showing and judging at car shows. Costa also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Marliene A. Costa; son, Richard; daughter, Patricia Costa-Hidalgo; son-in-law, Ignacio Hidalgo; and four grandchildren, all residents of Sherwood.
