Douglas Callahan Obituary

Douglas John Callahan passed unexpectedly November 10, 2025 at home. He was born July 26, 1939 in Lebanon, OR to John A. and Frances C. Callahan. They preceded him in death. Surviving are one brother, Lloyd (Lolita)Callahan in Junction City, OR and two sisters. Juanita(Lloyd)Weigel in Salem, OR and Madelyn Hanson in Bloomington, IL. He always enjoyed interaction with the many nieces and nephews that he had.

Douglas graduated from Lebanon High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served his country for 4 years in Korea and Washington D.C. Douglas lived in Reedsport for several years working in the lumber industry after his time in the service. He later moved back to Lebanon and worked in the cannery in Stayton.

Douglas was a member of the Christian churches in Reedsport and Lebanon. He was a member of the Southside Church for 33 years, Boy Scout Troop 350 and the American Legion. Douglas enjoyed spending his time walking around the lake nearby his home, collecting coins and visiting with his neighbors.

We will be having a service for Douglas Callahan at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR on Wednesday, December 17th at 2:30 p.m.
