Elizabeth Ray Obituary

Elizabeth Anne Ray passed away on November 14, 2025, in Albany, Oregon, at the age of 88. She was born on March 25, 1937, in Portland, Oregon, to Thomas and Beatrice (Yoman) Bailey and was raised by her mother and stepfather, Loyd Tucker.

Elizabeth grew up in Albany, where she began a lifelong journey with Gary Ray. They were married on April 16, 1957, and together built a life centered on love, laughter, and family.

In her early years, Elizabeth worked as a dental assistant while raising her children. She had a passion for collectibles and enjoyed browsing flea markets. Hosting holiday gatherings brought her great joy, and she cherished time spent with family and friends. She and Gary often shared evenings out with close companions-dinners, movies, and laughter that created lasting memories.

Elizabeth enjoyed reality television, shopping, and reading-especially mysteries and stories about pioneer women. Game nights were a favorite pastime; she delighted in teaching her grandchildren to play Sorry, dominos, and Crazy 8's. Poker games after holiday dinners became a treasured family tradition, where she was known for her sharp instincts and cheerful victories.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Ray; daughter Vickie Manns (Peter); grandchildren Holly Chandler, Juston Chandler (Karyn), Addy Overton (Allan), Ian Manns, and Nathan Ray (Kimberly); as well as numerous great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home.

Elizabeth's warmth, humor, and devotion to family will be deeply missed. Her legacy lives on in the cherished memories of those who knew and loved her.
