Patricia Tress Obituary

Patricia A. Tress

Patricia A. Tress, age 95, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, in Albany, Oregon. She was born on September 5, 1929, in Alturas, California, to Alvin B. and Helen F. Little Klavano.

Patricia graduated from Lebanon Union High School in 1947 and went on to earn her degree from Emanuel Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. Her dedication to caring for others led her to serve as a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps. During her service, she was stationed at Fitzsimons Army Hospital, Taiwan, and Okinawa, Japan.

On March 25, 1955, she married Jack E. Tress in Aurora, Colorado. Their loving marriage lasted until Jack's passing on January 14th, 2022.

For over 20 years, Patricia served her community as a Registered Nurse at Albany General Hospital. Her compassionate nature and skilled care touched the lives of many.

Patricia had a passion for flowers and gardening. Her yard was a testament to her meticulous care and love of beauty, a reflection of how she presented herself to the world. Her home was always impeccably maintained, a welcoming haven for family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Craig (Lisa) Tress and Karen (Mark) Privratsky; her grandchildren, Meghan Becker (Mark); Emily Downey; Lauren DeRueda (Travis); Eric Tress (Jennifer); and her eight great-grandchildren; Allie, Abbie, Blake, Easton, Kohen, Kyan, Mackenzie, and Madison. She is also survived by her brother, Keith Klavano of Lebanon, Oregon.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Tress; her parents, Alvin and Helen Klavano; and her brother, Wayne C. Klavano.

No service is planned at her request.

Dear Tress/Klavano family:
My condolences to your family for the loss of Patricia !! The following might be of some interest to the Klavano family. My father (John W. Alvin Sr.) worked with Alvin Klavano during the building and first years of operation of Cascade Plywood. My father was the lead welder and Alvin, of course, was lead pipefitter. They worked together on a lot of the piping systems. Al & family used to come to our place on South Santiam Hwy and pick pears and apples each summer for canning. This is the area where the present the Lebanon Sheri's Restaurant is. I would have been about 6 years old when Patricia was graduating from high school. I do remember that my Father thought very highly of Alvin. And I also remember of the terrible accident at the mill that laid Alvin up for quite a while. Apparently he was working high up when one of the dust cyclones exploded and caused him to fall. I kind of remember that one of his injuries was a compound fracture of his leg that required numerous surgeries and a long recuperation. Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts and memories !! - John
