William Bell Obituary

Bill Bell, 81, a 43-year resident of Thousand Oaks, passed away on Feb. 12, 2007, from complications of chemotherapy.

Bill was born on Feb. 26, 1925, in Chadron, Neb. He attended Chadron High School, where he played basketball and football, then attended college in Logan, Utah. He served in the U.S. Army infantry during World War II and in 1950 joined the Los Angeles Police Department, where he served as an officer for 28 years. During his retirement he enjoyed 25 years of playing golf at Sunset Hills Country Club.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Betty; devoted daughters, Christine, Donna and Tricia; admiring grandchildren, Brett, Kyle, Wade, Garrett and Taylor; and precious great-granddaughter, Lexi.

Friends and loved ones may attend a viewing at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, with a service to begin at 2:30 p.m., in the chapel of Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village.
