Barbara Jean Churchill

1932 - 2023

Janesville, WI - Barbara Jean Churchill, age 91, of Janesville passed away on August 8, 2023 at her home. She was born on April 6, 1932 in Fort Atkinson, WI, the daughter of Bernard and Eulalie Humbach (Miller). She grew up in Fort Atkinson and graduated from Fort Atkinson High School.

Barbara married Gerald J. Churchill on August 27, 1955. In the 1950's she was employed for a time by Borg Corporation in Janesville, otherwise she enjoyed being a homemaker and stay at home mom.

Barbara was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She enjoyed camping with her husband and family for many years. Above all else, being with her family brought her great joy.

Survivors include her three children; Lisa Churchill and Todd Churchill both of Janesville, Eric (Cindi) Churchill of Afton; two grandchildren, Misty Churchill and Alexander Churchill; three great-grandchildren, Lily, Charlie and Zander and niece Terri (Jon) Lundgren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Churchill on August 5, 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister Arlyne Whittet, three brothers Jerome Humbach who served in World War II and Bernard Humbach who was well-known for being extremely religious and at one time had his own church in Fort Atkinson and Lawrence Humbach.

The family wishes to extended a special thank you to Jared Kitzman and Christina Nightengale for the wonderful care they gave Barbara for the past three years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at ST. PATRICKS'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fort Atkinson. Visitation will be held at the CHURCH from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 16th. The Churchill family is being assisted by HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME.
