Carol Schucht Obituary

Janesville, WI - Carol Schucht went to her eternal home on June 21, 2023. She was born on December 6, 1936, to Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Alma "Susie" (Elmer) Whittier. In 1940 her mother married Slim Welch, who helped raise her. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1955. She married Howard M. "Bud" Schucht on October 6, 1956, in Gays Mills, WI, at her mother's home. They briefly lived in Monroe, WI then moved to Janesville, WI where she lived for the rest of her life. Carol worked for Job Service, Merchants and Savings Bank/Bank of WI. At the age of 55 she became the first Manager of the Women's Club, working in that position from July 1992 to May 31, 2006, when she retired. She enjoyed her time there very much.

She also taught ceramics at Cedar Crest and in her home. She was a past President of the Jackson School PTA, but she always felt her greatest accomplishment next to raising her family was her 5 years in a Clown Ministry. Her grandson, Andy, and her daughter joined her in this wonderful adventure. Her hobbies included knitting, painting ceramics, oils and watercolors, flower arranging, and reading. She also collected bears and porcelain dolls.

Carol leaves behind her loving family: a daughter Melanie (Ed) Burns, of Janesville; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Schucht of New Berlin; four grandsons: Andrew Burns, Bradley (Lacey) Schucht, Ryan (Mary) Schucht and Christopher (Kelly) Schucht and Five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by cousins and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, of 41.5 years; son, Michael, her parents; her stepfather; her granddaughter, Heather Marie; and a great-grandaughter, Madison Marie.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the APFEL WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, Janesville. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made at www.apfelwolfe.com
