David H. Hill

1938 - 2026

Beloit, WI - David H. Hill, age 87, passed away Feb. 26, 2026. He was born September 23, 1938, to Henry and Kathryn (Stratton) Hill. He was married 66 years to his high school sweetheart, Janice (Crusan) Hill. They had two children, Bonie Hill Plapp and Scott Hill.

He joined the National Guard and was called to duty for 1 1/2 years in Ft. Carson Colorado. He returned to Wisconsin and landed a job in Janesville, Wisconsin, at General Motors as a supervisor, where he retired after 30 years. He later moved out to the country to raise and train companion German Shorthaired Pointers. Founding Hillhaven Kennels with his wife, family, and friends till his health failed in his late seventies, and life had to slow down.

David is survived by his loving wife, Janis, his two children, two grandsons Johnathan, Mathew Plapp. Brother John and Joyce, Nieces Lana, Stephanie, Cindy Hill. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn (Stratton), Father Henry, and brother Dennis Hill.

A celebration of David's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the German Shorthaired Pointer Club Health Foundation or Rock County Cancer Coalition in David's name. The APFEL WOLFE FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family.
