David J. "Dave" Pattermann

1950 - 2025

Elkhorn, WI - David "Dave" Joseph Pattermann otherwise known and The Leatherman died peacefully at his home at the age of 74 on Thursday October 30, 2025. Dave was born on December 29, 1950, son of Joe and June Pattermann. Dave was raised on a dairy farm in Whitewater, WI; at the age of 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and insisted that he would help in the fight taking place in Vietnam. He completed Army Ranger training in Fort Benning, GA, becoming a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Cobra Team. He was wounded in the line of duty before returning home after which he began to learn the leather trade. Later in life Dave opened his own business, Custom Leather in Elkhorn, WI. In his time there he created many creative items and made many contacts with customers. On August 18, 2022, Dave married Karen J. LaRose and spent the rest of his days by her side. Dave is preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and one brother. He is survived by his loving wife; Karen Pattermann; four sisters; one brother; Karen's children; and five grandchildren that they shared; Ian Vicory, Caleb Vicory, Mia Clegg, Noah Nichols, and Silas Nichols.

A Memorial Service for Dave will take place on Saturday November 15, 2025, at 4:00pm at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin Street Elkhorn, WI 53121. A visitation will take place before the service beginning at 2:00PM, all are welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dave's name to Elkhorn VFW Post 6375 16 S. Broad Street Elkhorn, WI 53121. Dave's arrangements are under the direction of Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Elkhorn, WI.
