David E. Sagen

1952 - 2025

Janesville, WI - David E. Sagen, age 73, of Janesville, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison. He was born in La Crosse on January 12, 1952, the son of Earland and Joyce (Olson) Sagen. He was a 1970 graduate of La Crosse Logan High School. After graduation, he went on to receive a Degree in Business from Milton College, where he began a career in banking and later transitioned into sales. He worked as a sales associate at Brothers Main Appliance and had also worked for Ace Hardware. David married Cynthia "Cindy" M. Soergel on June 2, 2001, at St. John Lutheran Church, Edgerton. He enjoyed collecting Steins and traveling with Cindy. He was a member of Edgerton Masonic Lodge and Faith Lutheran Church. He loved the Drum Corps and was a member of Blue Stars of La Crosse and would travel to at least one show a year.

David is survived by his wife, Cindy; 2 daughters, Amy (Ben) Krentz of North Vietnam and Megan (Jim) Rynes of Edgerton; 2 sisters; Karen (Dana) Wahl of Beloit and Diane Sagen of Edgerton; and many nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, Janesville. Burial will be at Fassett Cemetery, Edgerton. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorials in David's name can be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital.
