Grace Visich Obituary

Grace Marion (Lingle) Visich Elgin, IL - Grace Marion Visich, age 89, passed away Saturday morning, October 26, 2024, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL.

She was born in Lamar, Colorado, and lived on a small ranch with her mother and four siblings. Her father, Marion Lingle, passed away when her mother, Myrtle Lingle, was two months pregnant with her during the Great Depression. Of her four siblings, she was the closest to her big brother, John Lingle, who was seven years her senior. Grace kept a wooden toy for 85 years that John carved for her when he was 11 and she was 4. John passed away at age at 89. Grace always said 89 was a good year to go and that is what she did.

Grace married George Visich Sr in Raton, NM, on September 25, 1954. George passed away on June 18, 2004. Just three months short of making the 50th year anniversary.

Grace had three children Gail, George Jr, and Gwen. Unfortunately, Grace lost her only son in March 2016. That loss was devasting to her, and she never fully recovered.

Grace always had a smile, and she loved the Lord and her church family. Her kindness and sense of humor were well known; if you were around her, you experienced both.

She is survived by her daughters Gail Ward and Gwen (Brad) Maske. She had six grandchildren: Dan Ward, Jennifer Davis, Amanda Crahen, Nicole Mims, Boyd Maske, and Matt White. She had seven great-grandchildren: Alexis, Bella, Xavier, Dylan, Lucius, Bryce, and Bohdi.

Private Family Memorial Services will be held in the future.

Memorial donations may be made to Christ the Rock Church, 2232 Hermitage Ln, Janesville, WI 53546, or via PayPal to [email protected].
