Gregory Clatworthy Obituary
Gregg spent 30+ years working at GM in Janesville. He enjoyed the Packers, Badgers, and was a diehard fan of the Chicago Cubs. He also enjoyed bowling and was an avid golfer. He was a 7-time winner of the Janesville City golf tournament and in 1979, became the first Wisconsin golfer to qualify for the USGA Public Links and U.S. Men's Amateur championships. A lifetime member of the Riverside Men's Golf Association, Gregg was inducted into the Janesville Sports Hall of Fame for both golf and bowling, joining his dad in that same honor.
Gregg is survived by his daughters Kathleen Clatworthy (Eric Lohmeier) and Kellie Clatworthy; son Ryne Clatworthy (Jessica Masrin); grandson Rexford Clatworthy; long-time friend Mary Berger; nieces and nephews: Brian, Brenda, Brent, Rhonda, Ben, Erin, Peter, Adam, and Alex; sisters-in-law Beth Lowe and Maggie (John) Carpenter; brother-in-law Tim (Lori) Lowe; aunt Bonnie Knutson; and his cats Cubbie and Bulldog. He was preceded in death by his wife Maureen; parents; son John; sister Patty Meyer-Smith; uncle Richard Knutson; in-laws: Rex and Betty Lowe; and brother-in-law David Lowe.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Mar. 12, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the APFEL WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, 21 S. Austin Rd, Janesville. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will begin at noon on April 5, 2025 at Mo's TAASBAG, 2339 Milton Avenue, Janesville. For those attending the visitation Gregg requested guests wear their best Cubs, Packers, or Badger attire (No Brewers!). In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Gregg's name to the Janesville Riverside Junior Golf Academy. Online condolences may be made at www.apfelwolfe.com
