Janet Nelson

1942 - 2025

Janesville, WI - Janet Rose Nelson, age 83, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on November 25, 2025. She was born in Beloit on January 23, 1942, the daughter of Earl and Doris (Conrad) Schultz. She graduated from Evansville High School and went on to do administrative work for billboards and advertising for the majority of her career. On August 10 of 1990, Janet married Howard Nelson; they built a beautiful life together in Janesville.

Family was the center of Janet's life. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren meant the world to her. She was very crafty, always working on a project. She loved making homemade cards and teddy bears for her friends and family. That is something they will always cherish. Janet was easy going, kind hearted, and a light in many people's lives.

Janet is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Youmans (Brandon); grandchildren: TJ Quade, Teagan (Ira) Schwartz, and Celestia "Brodie" Carroll; great grandchildren, Lucille Rose and Leo; brother, James Schultz; sister, Joanne Gibbs; four step daughters: Jerianne Nelson, Julie Nelson, Jackie Johnson, and Amy Nelson; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Howard Nelson; two sisters, Joyce Bobzien and Judy Wickersham; and brother, John Schultz.
