Lelia DiPasquale Obituary

Lelia Joyce (Manogue) DiPasquale Janesville, WI - Lelia Joyce DiPasquale, 89, beloved mother, grandmother, and teacher passed away peacefully at Oak Park Place Nursing Facility in Janesville, WI on October 31, 2025 after briefly battling kidney cancer. Lelia was born in Janesville, with her twin brother Leo, on January 31, 1936, to Leo and Ann (Stearns) Manogue. In 1956, she married Dominic DiPasquale and moved to Franksville, WI, where they raised four daughters: Anna, Carolyn, Dolores, and Ginny.

Lelia earned her BA at UW-Parkside (1979) and her MA in Reading at UW-Milwaukee (1983). She taught at Saint Rita's School, Racine, WI; Truckee Meadows Community College, Reno, NV; Blackhawk Tech, Janesville; and ESL to non-native women at the Janesville mall. An active member of Bethel Baptist church, Lelia served in the food pantry and kitchen. She loved to play piano, do crossword puzzles, and thrift with her daughters. Lelia traveled to France, Italy, Denmark, Portugal, and Ireland. What people will remember most about Lelia was her kindness, her ability to laugh at life and make people feel truly loved.

Dominic preceded Lelia in death on June 19, 1982. Lelia is survived by daughters, Anna DiPasquale (Greg), Carolyn DiPasquale (Phil), Dolores (Dale) Thorpe, Ginny (Dan) Hintz; ten grand and seven great-grandchildren; siblings Dolores (Stanley) Hergert, Kathleen Olson, Marcia (Steve) Glaessel, and Leo (Pat) Manogue.

Lelia's celebration of life will be on Saturday, November 22 at 11am at Bethel Baptist Church in Janesville, luncheon to follow. Her burial will be private, but friends may visit her grave in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Milton.
