Norman Gerald "Jerry, Chopper" Fosmoen

1939 - 2024

Janesville, WI - Norman Gerald "Jerry" "Chopper" Fosmoen, of Janesville, died peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2024 at the Rock Haven Assisted Living Facility, at 84 years old. He was born in Janesville, Wisconsin on February 17, 1939; the son of Norman C. and Mary (Edwards) Fosmoen. Jerry was an alumnus of Janesville High School and married his loving wife, Judith A. (Klemp) Fosmoen on October 27, 1956. They were blessed with six children, and enjoyed 53 years of marriage before her passing on January 20, 2013. Jerry retired from General Motors Corporation in Janesville. He enjoyed hunting in his younger years, and loved being out in his boat fishing. Jerry was a Wisconsin sports enthusiast and enjoyed spending time in the yard and hanging out by their pool with family. Jerry and Judy also enjoyed numerous trips to Arizona through out their years together. Above all else, Jerry was a proud Grandpa; showing his love and support to his grandkids throughout all of their sports and activities.

He is survived by his children: Matt (Paula) Fosmoen, Daniel Fosmoen, Michael (Kerri) Fosmoen, Wendy Fosmoen, Becky Wolf and Jeff Fosmoen; grandchildren: Cody Fosmoen, Kailey (Derrick) Ponkauskas, Andy (Angie) Wolf, Aaron Wolf, Alex (Cirrissa) Fosmoen and Madisen Fosmoen; great grandchildren, Reed and Paizlee; sister, Suzanne Halsted; and many extended family members and friends.

Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Judith Fosmoen; and his parents, Norman C. and Mary Fosmoen. And a son in law, Anthony Wolf.

The family would like to thank Rock Haven Assisted Living Facility and Agrace Hospice for taking such good care of him.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 15, 2024 at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME; with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.
