Patrick May Obituary

Patrick May Janesville, WI - Patrick David May, age 73, of Janesville, WI, passed away on February 7, 2026, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Pat was born on March 17, 1952, in Prairie du Chien to parents Merlin and Bernice (Coorough) May. Pat met his wife, Betty (Arnold), in April of 1971 and they married on October 30, 1971. They were blessed with four sons: Brian, Jason, Kevin, and Jonathan. Pat and Betty moved their family to Janesville in 1991, where Pat spent most of his 40 years of nursing working in the ICU at St. Mary's Hospital. Pat was awarded the DAISY Award, the hospital's most prestigious recognition. Pat was a supportive and devoted family man, an avid fisherman, a fan of all Wisconsin sports and "collector" of lawn inflatables. Patrick is survived by his wife, Betty, three sons: Brian (Carolyn), Jason (Brenda), and Jonathan (Sarah); his siblings: Gary (Cathy), Ronald (Ann), Dianne and Roger; his 14 grandchildren; and his 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merlin and Bernice, and his son, Kevin. The family would like to invite anyone who has been positively impacted by Pat to a memorial service in his honor. Visitation, service and a small lunch will be held at Cargill United Methodist Church, 2000 Wesley Ave, Janesville, WI on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 10am.
