Rodney Stryhn Obituary

Rodney Gene "Butch" Stryhn Longview, WA -

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved father, husband, and dedicated Marine, Rodney Stryhn (Butch), 81, who left us on March 2, 2024, in Longview Washington. He was born on 1/12/1943 to Roger & Betty Stryhn in Stoughton WI.

Butch led an amazing life, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered as his home was a haven of warmth and hospitality, reflecting his deep love for family and friends. He retired from the General Motors plant in Janesville WI in 1993 and had many friends from the plant.

Butch is survived by Janet Stryhn (Wife), Carol (Cliff) Muchow of Evansville WI, Rick (Karen) Stryhn, Vickie (Rob) Lockhart, Gene (Rhonda) Stryhn, Russell (Michele) Acker, Julie (Wes) Salzsieder, and countless grandchildren and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Betty and Roger Stryhn, Gary Stryhn (brother), Barb Nehls (sister), Susie Muchow (niece), and Jackson Stryhn (grandchild).

A memorial service to celebrate Butch's life for friends and family will be held in July at a location yet to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Cancer Society, a cause that was dear to Butch's heart.

Butch's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

"Semper Fidelis - Always Faithful. In memory of Butch, a devoted Marine who lived by these words in service to country, family, and honor. Though the battlefield is silent, the echoes of his courage and commitment will forever resonate in our hearts."
