Shirley M. Raatz

1949 - 2025

JANESVILLE, WI - Shirley Mae Raatz, age 76 of Janesville, passed away at her home on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Shirley was born in Monroe, on August 6, 1949, the daughter of Walter and Dorothy (Walmer) Karlen. She grew up in Monroe, later moving to Janesville, attending High School.

Shirley married William H. "Bill" Raatz on September 10, 1966. From 1983 to 2013 Shirley and Bill owned and operated Bill's Electric in Janesville. Shirley was an avid reader and will be remembered for enjoying spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and spending time with them.

Shirley is survived by her three daughters, Shelane Raatz, Erin (Cory) Turk, and Jonell Raatz (Joey Harmel); seven grandchildren, Madelyn LaBrenz, Davis, Savanna, Bayley and Tyson Turk, and Carter and Landen Raymond; great-grandchild, Phoenix Stebbins; and her brother, Steven (Lucy) Karlen. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Raatz on December 26, 2020. Her parents, Walter and Dorothy Karlen; and her brother, Randall Karlen also preceded her in death.

A special thank you to her grandson, Davis, for his steady presence and dedication to her care with such love, patience, and gentleness.
