Virginia May Heasty

Janesville, WI - Virginia May Heasty, age 95 of Janesville, WI passed away on October 20, 2023 at Autumn Lake Health Care in Beloit, WI. Virginia was born on December 8, 1927 in the Town of Adrian, Monroe County, WI, the daughter of Ervin and Lucy (Van Dyke) Nauman. She grew up in Monroe County and graduated from Tomah High School.

While working at a bakery in Sparta, Virginia met Clifford Heasty. She fast became the sparkle in his eye and they were married on April 17, 1949 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ridgeville, WI. Clifford farmed in Monroe County until health issues became a problem. They moved to Janesville and Clifford took a job at Beloit Corporation where he became secretary/treasurer of the machinist union. Virginia became the financial secretary and kept the books for many years for the union.

Church was always very important in Virginia's life and she was a very active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Janesville where she scheduled ushers for services, was in charge of funeral lunches and assisted in the kitchen for many other functions at the church.

Virginia Heasty is survived by children; Jean (Cedric) Hathway, Ruth (Tommy) Hendrix, Doris (Jeff) Seabaugh, Patricia Heasty, Ralph Heasty, Richard (Sandra) Heasty, Raymond Heasty; grandchildren, Jack, Zach (Tina), Ian (Marina), Kyle, Amber (Frank), Dustin, Heather (Geoff), Dan (Erika), Devin (Elizabeth), Clifford, Jennifer May, Tim (Kevin), Michelle (Bob), Patrick, Henry; 16 great-grandchildren with one more due in December; sisters, Betty Jeanne Pottinger, Karen Stark; brother, Virgil Nauman; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford on May 6, 2010. Her parents; brother Raymond; sister, Irene; and grandson Dee also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023 at ST. PETER'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1422 Center Ave., Janesville. Rev. Bruce Gray will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, November 3rd at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville and at the CHURCH from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, November 4th. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6th at Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta, WI. Online condolences may be shared at www.henkeclarson.com.
