Doc was an amazing coach and mentor. He sponsored me and many other young surfers by not just paying our entry fees to contests but also driving us up and down the coast to surf in the WSA surfing competitions. His positive attitude and love for people and surfing was always apparent. Doc inspired us to surf in even the biggest and gnarliest conditions. I will never forget the surf excursions he took our nor cal surf team on. Driving on the beach to find the best waves at Moss Landing, camping on the beach at Malibu and getting up with the dawn to surf a fresh south swell with no one out, and even crossing the southern border into Mexico to surf amazing right-hand overhead waves at San Miguel's. When you traveled with Doc Scott there was never a dull moment and always an opportunity to shred the gnar. We love you Doc and your stoke will live on in all of us.

I was Dr. Scott medical secretary
in Gilroy in the early 1960s.
I remember Dr. Scott calling me at the office and saying reschedule my patient " surfs up" !
Many years have passed, but I always remember the kindness he
showed to me in his patients.

Doc was a great guy and cared about people. I wouldn't have met him without Brenda and Leslie (hello you two) introductions 40 years ago at International Trades. He told me to "stick it in your ear"!

Doc' Scott was our family physician for the years he practiced in Gilroy. He was honorable, kind and a wonderful Dr. He will be greatly miss by all who knew him. My condolances to his family.
