1953 - 2023

Alan Douglas Amon Alan Douglas Amon age 69 of Big Rapids, Mi (formally Colorado) passed away surrounded with love from family into the Lord's arms Feb 18, 2023.

He was preceded in death by Brother Neil Amon, Parents Duane and Norma Amon, Granddaughter Regan.

He's survived by his children, Lisa Amon, Tyson Amon, Joseph Amon all of CO and KC McMaster (Brett) of MA.

Mother of his children Cindy Amon of CO.

Alan's, wife Julianne, stepchildren, Kenneth, Kimberlee, Tiffany (Nick), Joshua (Christine), Shawn, all from MI.

Grandchildren, Jordan, Jameson, Skye, Sterling, Brennan, Gunner Great Granddaughter Addison all of CO.

Brianna (Justin), Bailee (Quentin), Hannah (Trevor), Matthew, Mikalah, Allison, Olivia, Leon.

Great Grandchildren Tyler, Aria, two more arriving before year ends, all of MI.

Sister, Judy Amon of Co, Special friend and Brother, Jim Sheetz of CO, and many nieces and nephews.

Alan attended Arvada HS in CO. After HS He enlisted with The Marines. Alan, proudly served our country with two tours in Vietnam. After 4 years of serving he was honorably discharged.

Alan became a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 145 in Colorado until he transferred to local 174 in MI. He retired at age 58 with health issues.

Alan will be remembered as a big and strong man who could do anything he set his mind to. He was the hardest working man around and taught a strong work ethic to others. Alan's math skills helped the kids with homework and earned them A's.

He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone.

He enjoyed a good joke, never at a loss of words or a sarcastic comeback to anyone and he didn't care who you were, he enjoyed riding his Harley, camping, hunting with the kids, Alan was all about a good campfire and you learned fast not to mess with his fire.

He also enjoyed and took pride in his garden and canned his own harvest. He made the best breakfast and everything turned out perfect.

Alan enjoyed doing yard work. In the winter he'd be by the door with a shovel in his hand waiting for the snow arrive. We never had snow or ice in the driveway or walkway.

His greatest joys were grandchildren and spending time with them, and always had something to teach them.

A military service for Alan at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, Mi on June 2nd @1:30.

Also weekend of June 16th at Vega State Park in CO. With day and time still to be decided when Alan's, Mi. family arrives in CO.
