Diane Stucker Obituary

Diane Elaine (Johnston) Stucker Mary 15, 1941 – November 9, 2012 Diane Stucker, 71, passed from this earth and into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, November 9, 2012, at Hospice of Arizona in Mesa, Arizona. She died of complications from Alzheimer's. She was born on May 15, 1941, in Pueblo, Colorado to Ruth and James Johnston. Diane graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1959. She married Rex Stucker on December 2, 1959, in Grand Junction, Colorado at the First Congregational Church. They were married for 27 years. Diane was an excellent homemaker, mother and hostess. She enjoyed welcoming and serving family and friends in her home. Her greatest desire was to be a wife and mother. Her children were her joy and delight and she loved spending time with them. She was very loving and compassionate and in her sweet way she referred to everyone as "honey". Diane's love and compassion came from a heart that loved and served Jesus. The care and raising of Diane's family found her living across the United States. It took her to Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma, Guam, Wyoming, Washington, Colorado, and Arizona. Diane also worked as a caregiver for the State of Wyoming in Worland, WY; a hostess at Monti's La Casa Vieja in Tempe, AZ and Good Pastures in Grand Junction, CO; and a retail clerk at Fred Myers in Vancouver, WA and Herberger's in Grand Junction, CO. She is survived by her children, Theresa (Les) McPherson from Grand Junction, CO; Sara (Tony) Ayres from Mesa, AZ; James (Julie) Stucker from Burlington, WA, and Cynthia (Brad) Parker from Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, Kristen (Judd) Latham and Kayla (Brian) Osborn from Grand Junction, CO, and Derek (Hannah) Bihr from New Castle, CO; Nathaniel Parker from Mesa, AZ; Amy Hjelt from Portland, OR; Michael Hjelt and Kaylee Stucker from Burlington, WA; Aliza Ayres from Tampa, FL, and Matthew Provost from Fairbanks, AK; great-grandchildren, Kaiden Latham and Jayce Latham, and sister, Judy Johnston of Grand Junction, CO. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins and precious friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Canyon View Vineyard Church Chapel, 736 24 1/2 Road, Grand Junction, Colorado.

I knew Diane in high school and after until she and Rex moved on when he was in the Air Force. We had some really fun times. My fondest memory is the night Theresa was born and she, Rex's mother and I played aggravation while we timed her labor pains. What a fond memory. We only saw each other a few times over the years but I will always remember her as a very good friend.
