Donna Gregory Obituary

Donna K. Gregory
December 11, 1943 - May 24, 2017
Our beautiful mother, Donna K. Gregory, age 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital.
She was born December 11, 1943, in Paonia, CO, to Homer and Helen Graham. Our mom graduated from Paonia High School in 1962, and Mesa College in 1964. She married Dan Cholas, and had the first of her three beloved children, Denise (Cholas) Aldrich. She later married Stan Gregory and had her other two beloved children, Jeff Gregory and Nicole (Gregory) Mason.
She spent her life supporting her children working in the banking and retail industry. Most people have told us they remember always seeing her beautiful smile at Stop'n Save.
Our mom's greatest joy in life was being a mother to her three children and later a grandmother to her three grandchildren. People remember that her door was always open to her friends and ours friends. Most people who grew up in Paonia remember spending at least one evening at the Gregory house laughing the night away. She was also welcoming to any kid who needed a place to stay.
When her grandkids were born, she found a whole new purpose in life, she became the best grandma they could ask for! Her "open door policy" did not stop with her children because she was always welcoming to her grandkids' friends also. Many have expressed the love they felt from Joey, Tanner and Kaylyn's Grandma.
Our mom is preceded in death by our sweet brother, Jeffrey Gregory, and her mother and father.
She leaves behind very broken hearted children, Denise Aldrich, Nicole Mason and Joe Mason, and her three beautiful grandchildren, Joey, Tanner and Kaylyn Mason.
A Celebration of Life was held Monday, May 29, 2017, at the American Legion in Paonia. A viewing took place Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Taylor Funeral Services in Paonia.
Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff at St. Mary's Hospital ICU unit for the wonderful care they gave our mom during her last few days.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
