Jesse Gray Obituary

Jesse H. Gray May 5, 1977 - April 12, 2007 Jesse H. Gray, 29 of Grand Junction, died at home April 12th, 2007. He was born May 5th, 1977 in Craig, Colorado to Tom and Brenda Gray. As a child, Jesse loved baseball, building tree houses with his friends and drawing. By high school it was clear he had a talent for basketball and was becoming an accomplished artist. He graduated from Moffat County High School in 1995 and accepted a basketball scholarship to Central College in Kansas. He moved to Grand Junction to attend Mesa State College in 1997 where he met the love of his life, Heather Clifton. They were married on the Grand Mesa on August 21st, 1999 and then moved to Phoenix where they lived for two years. While in Phoenix, Jesse worked as superintendent for Valley Wide Fence where he was very successful. They moved back to Grand Junction in 2001 to be near family. Heather and Jesse celebrated the happiest day of their lives on July 11th 2003 when their daughter Haley Ann was born. His daughter was a constant source of joy in his life and he spent much of his time giving her shoulder rides, pushing her on the swing , and getting up with her in the morning for their special father-daughter time. Jesse loved fishing, playing basketball, and playing video games, all activities that he was good at. He was a music connoisseur and gifted artist. He and his wife spent many a Saturday morning seeking out the best yard sale deal and he prided himself in never paying asking price for anything. He worked in Junction designing and building metal structures, where he combined his artistic talent and creativity with his vast knowledge of welding and metal work. We will not soon forget his quick wit and never ending ability to make everyone laugh. He will be sorely missed, greatly cherished and above all, remembered. Family that will miss him dearly are his daughter, Haley Gray of Grand Junction, former wife, Heather Gray of Grand Junction, parents Tom and Brenda Gray of Craig, brother Blu (Jaida) Gray of Grand Junction and sister Amanda (Alex) Garhart of Grand Junction. Grandparents, Don and Margaret Gray of Rush, CO and Elizabeth Skinner of London, England as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a scholarship fund for Haley at Grand Valley National Bank.
