John Simpson Obituary
February 26, 1951 - May 21, 2022
John Simpson was a good man with a generous heart who loved uplifting his community with great music. He was a happy man who relished life's pleasures. John had a clever sense of humor and sparkled when you got his joke. He had a lovely voice and loved to sing, especially if an audience was enjoying it. John loved people. He could make connection anywhere with his gift for gab. His sense of timing was a talent.
We had a partnership and a business putting on music events. We call ourselves Singer & Simpson Productions. It all started with John creating a party to celebrate my birthday at a restaurant with friends. He encouraged the restaurant owner to hire me with my band to perform that night. Singer & Simpson Productions will continue producing music events.
Please join us at The Avalon Theatre on September 14, for An Evening in Rio with the Best of Brazil, John's concept of a concert of what may turn out to be the best Brazilian music you've ever heard honoring Antnio Carlos Jobim, Joo Gilberto, Stan Getz...and John Simpson, a Renaissance Man who truly believed that life could be splendid. Miriam & other of John's Loved Ones:
My heart is saddened - I only just learned of John's passing. Our world has lost a bright soul!
In twenty years in the Grand Valley TWO of my most special evenings were spent with John & Miriam, around the piano, listening to remarkable music and enjoying the experiences created by two gracious and sophisticated hosts. All blessings & peace in your hearts.
