Joseph Tonozzi Obituary

Joseph M. Tonozzi

September 22, 1949 - April 8, 2022

Joe was born September 22, 1949, to Emil "Tony" and Wilda Tonozzi, in Lamar, Colorado, and grew up in Holly. After graduating from Holly High School in 1967, his family moved to Carlsbad, California. He attended Mira Costa College and worked for relatives in and around that area. After living there for several years, he made his way back to the Western Slope of Colorado. He married in 1974 and had his dear son, Sasha, in 1977.

In 1984, Joe reunited with Rebecca "Becki" Fair with whom he had a "steady" connection from the fifth grade until two years out of high school. They married and had a beautiful life together for 38 years.

For three decades Joe and his brothers, through a number of partnerships and corporations, provided janitorial and other support services to primarily phone companies throughout Western Colorado.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger, and nephew, Trevor. He is survived by Becki and Sasha; brother, Tony (Dolores), of Loma, CO; sister-in-law, Sharon Tonozzi, of Fruita; sister-in-law, Joy Lepel, of Springfield, CO; brother-in-law, Gary Fair, of Syracuse, KS, as well as many nephews and nieces including great and great-great, plus other relatives and many friends.

The family thanks HopeWest Hospice Care staff for the loving care and support given in the last weeks of Joe's life.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 23, 2:30 p.m., at Absolute Prestige Ranch, 1351 Q Road, Loma, CO.

Please direct any offerings of love on Joe's behalf to HopeWest or to Roice-Hurst Humane Society.
