I knew Justin since we were in first grade together, though we weren't really friends until we were in high school. Myself and others used to pick on him about how sensitive he was, looking back now I recognize that as a mistake that I can never correct. Amongst the people I surrounded myself with in my youngest years there were few people who would prove to be such caring, gentle people, and he is the only one who I would still consider a friend today.

We learned who we were, perhaps not together, but in each other's company. We had a kind of mutual understanding of each other that the others in our friend group did not and, while not really close, we had respect for each other. Justin was a good man, and this world is darker without him in it.

Justin was a delightful child, so enthusiastic about life and thoughtful of others. He was the same way as a young man.
His light will always be remembered.
