Mark Ashcraft Obituary

Mark Alan Ashcraft February 8, 1957 - June 10, 2011 Mark was born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Albuquerque, NM to Bill and Myrna Ashcraft on February 8, 1957. He expired on June 10, 2011 in Kihei, Hawaii (Maui), of natural causes. He was 54 years old. When Mark was three months old, he moved with his parents to Grand Junction. He attended local schools and at the age of 17, entered the U.S. Army. He served his country while in Germany. Mark married Tami Brown and to this union two children were born, Jeremiah and Brittany Marie. The marriage later ended in divorce. Mark was a contractor and was very proud of his beautiful creations, of which he would send home pictures. He was a very adventurous person. He loved exploring the mountains and studying nature. Five years ago Mark moved to Hawaii and fell in love with the ocean. He would frequently swim with the turtles and snorkel among the reefs. Mark's passion was music and playing the guitar. He produced his own CD, "Gator", which featured many of his original songs. But he especially enjoy the evenings in the backyard, when all of his family would join him with their guitars, making beautiful music and memories. Mark is survived by his son Jeremiah who attends Mesa State College; parents, Bill and Myrna Ashcraft; sister, Deb Stegall of Grand Junction, CO; brothers, Michael of Peoria, AZ; Mitchell of Evanston, WY; Paul of White Water, CO; Matthew of Eckert, CO; Jim of Corona, CA, and Marty of Grand Junction, CO, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brittany Marie, and brother, Merrill Thomas. A viewing and cremation has taken place in Hawaii. Inurnment of Mark's ashes will occur at a later date.
