Norman Kunze Obituary

Norman Phillip Kunze December 8, 1955 – November 3, 2012 Stormin Norman died November 3, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, CO, due to a short battle with cancer. He was born December 8, 1955 to Horst W. and Eva D. Kunze in Denver, CO. In his teens he moved to Grand Junction and attended Intermountain Academy. Norman was a house painter by trade serving the Grand Valley for 40 years, He enjoyed music, playing the piano and pump organ, scuba diving, river running, backpacking, motorcycling and fishing. And, he was also a great shade tree mechanic. He is survived by his wife, Tommie Hockenhull Kunze; stepdaughter, Tiffany Hockenhull; and grandson, Stewart Jacquez, all of Grand Junction; brothers, Raymond Kunze of Cleveland, OH, Horst Detlef (Patricia) Kunze, Hans Ingo (Holly) Kunze, both of Grand Junction; nephews, Alex Kunze, Peter Ingo Kunze, Jason Johnson; nieces, Laurel Kunze, Michelle Harbison, Lisa Gurule, Nichole Johnson; several great nieces and nephews and many relatives in Germany. He was proceeded in death by is father, Horst W. Kunze; mother, Eva D. Kunze; and a niece, Renee Elise Kunze. A potluck celebration of life will be held Tuesday, November 20, at 2 p.m., 3229 E 1/2 Rd., Clifton. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to 2752 Redwood Ct., Grand Junction, CO 81503.

I knew Norman as a teenager and young adult (IJA era) and then hadn't seen him in years. This is a shock to me, we were 6 days apart in age, and he was too young to go.
I will always remember him as being so mellow, kind, and talented. My sympathys to out to his family. So Sorry.

Norm was my brother inlaw to me he was very quiet didn't say much got along with everyone. Norm you will be missed by all that knew you.
